I MOVED! – WHO IS @KAYAYLUH?

Pebble's Gaming Diaries

Welcome back everyone!

Since the end of last week, I have been moving and as of today I finally received my Wi-Fi router!!!

Unfortunately, this does mean I’ve had no Wi-Fi and have had limited time to play Valorant. However, there’s still lots I’d love to talk about with you all.

Well, where do we start… as the main title of my blog suggests, I am ‘Straight Outta Iron.’ At the end of last week, I finally managed to escape iron, yet again. Your girl is now back to bronze 🥉! So, this week I will be doing my utmost to keep climbing the ranks.

Since I moved, I also decided when else best would it be to indulge in some of life’s finer things???

I bought my very first gaming chair and monitor! Gaming chair is the MATCHSPEL Gaming chair, in
Bomstad black from IKEA (link below) and monitor is the HP X34 (34" ) WQHD IPS HDR Gaming Monitor from HP (link below).  My monitor won’t necessarily be used for gaming though, as I am just so used to my little laptop screen, but I might give it a go every now and then and update you all on how that goes.

What do we all think of the chair? It’s really comfortable and supportive. Plus, with the additional faux fur touches, it’s just so cosy and soft to sit in for long periods of time.

If anyone has a setup or chair that they want to share, feel free to link it down below in the comments x

On another note, I felt that having not played much recently, I had few of my own encounters to share with you all. To note, the only anti-female gamer situation I experienced at the end of last week occurred as follows:

*TM Reyna is rude to everyone all game

- 12-12 tie-breaker and we are about to win -

Me – (in voice chat) – “*GGs”

TM Reyna – “Shut up little kid”

Me – “I’m a girl”

TM Reyna – “A girl!? ~ profound cursing in an undisclosed language ~”

My friend stops defusing the bomb so we (*a four stack + Reyna) lose, because of the Reyna’s behaviour.

The Reyna suffering ‘instant karma!’

- FIN -

As you can see, it’s not the most gripping encounter and I, unfortunately, do not possess any audio recording of it, but it is at least evidence that women are seemingly ‘even worse to play with than children.’

Besides this, I really wanted to share with you all a YouTuber/streamer who has recently grown increasingly popular amongst the Valorant community. I do not know her personally, however from her videos, she appears to be an extremely bubbly, caring, and outgoing woman. She goes by the name of Kayayluh on her social media accounts and ‘Potato’ (typically) on Valorant.

Below I have linked a video of hers that not only introduced me to her channel, but also made me realise how commonplace and relatable women’s experiences on online multiplayer games actually is. It can be humorous and something that is so easily brushed off, but for many, it is also a deterrent to joining this community and can really impact confidence and mental health. That is why I feel somewhat light-hearted videos such as these are a great way to not only find a relatable escape, but also raise awareness for a more serious issue.

Without further ado, this is the link to the censored version of her video; she has also posted an uncensored version. However, please note that a trigger warning still applies, regardless!

Enjoy <3

Blog Post Glossary:

*TM - Abbreviation of Teammate

*Reyna - A duelist character in the game, Valorant.

*GG - Abbreviation for Good Game

*Four stack – Valorant is a 5-sided team game, therefore each team has 5 members. In this instance I was queued with 3 of my friends, thus the 5th teammate was a random person the game paired us with.
